State
Championship Ring Ceremony
The 2010
Petal Baseball Team received its state championship rings at a pregame
ceremony Saturday night at Panther Stadium. Each member of the squad
was given his ring on the field by Coach Larry Watkins.

named national Coach of the Year, as well as District 6 Coach
of
the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Coach Watkins
was also named District 6 Coach of the Year by the National High School

Panther Field was
also selected
as District 6 Field of the Year by the National High School Baseball
Coaches Association. Todd Hawkins was selected as District 6
Groundskeepers of the Year. The National Field of the Year
will be
announced in January at BCA National Convention in Nashville,
TN.

honors baseball team
The Petal High
baseball team
was honored by the Petal Board of Aldermen on Tuesday night at city
hall. Mayor Hal Marx presented Coach Watkins with a proclamation
honoring the team's true hard work and dedication for winning the
first-ever 2010 Class 6A State Championship.
